This antique Indian brown door in recycled wood with sacred Sanskrit inscriptions and painted tiles is a piece of extraordinary rarity and great cultural value. With dimensions of 145x37x218h cm, the double door features leaves with panels of great ornamental richness: an upper panel with arch and solar fan carving with inscriptions in Gujarati/Sanskrit and auspicious symbols, a central panel with the mantras of Lord Vishnu and Krishna written in Gujarati script, and a panel with three hand-painted ceramic tiles with images of Hindu deities and floral motifs. The solid frame features an upper lintel with carved arabesque frieze and column capitals with ornamental motifs. A unique piece of the highest spiritual and historical value from a religious haveli.
