Its finish in unpainted natural mango wood, with warm honey, walnut and mahogany tones that vary according to the grain, displays the full natural beauty of the solid wood and maximises the depth of the extraordinary baroque floral carving. The three large front panels are completely covered by a dense carving of open flowers, roses, scrolls and acanthus leaves articulated in baroque compositions of unique artisan dynamism and depth. The decorative metal studs at corners and edges — with copper tones that harmonise with the wood — and the central wrought iron lock add unmistakable colonial authenticity. The solid wood ball feet complete a trunk of solid presence and artisan refinement of the first order.
