This antique Indian brown door in recycled wood is a remarkable piece of Indian rural architecture with a carved welcome inscription. With dimensions of 152x19x218h cm, the double door features leaves with upper panels carved with the inscription "WELCOME" and radial sun motifs with ornamental dotting, and lower panels with the names "PATEL MANTILAL" inscribed in relief on horizontal grooved bands. The solid frame features cylindrical columns on the pilasters with vertical flutes, an upper frieze with pierced carving of floral motifs and an inner lintel with floral and scroll carving. The hardware includes brass handles with vertical bar form. A piece unique in its kind due to the personalised inscription that tells the family history of a haveli from the state of Gujarat.
